Jet Bridges
The jet bridge’s visual identity is defined by the architectural expression of Pier E in order to complement the building. This has been achieved by basing the proportioning of the vertical divisions in the facade on the proportioning of Pier E's facade. The choice of material for the jet bridges is intentionally different. Glass has been selected for the facades of the jet bridges to create a light expression, contrasting with the use of fiber cement panels on the Pier E facade. The difference in material creates a dynamic relationship between the jet bridges and Pier E, as the jet bridges now clearly appear as supporting elements to Pier E.
The jet bridges fulfill several specific technical and functional requirements. Each of the four jet bridges consists of 2-3 passenger bridges, to which movable jet bridges are connected. The fixed jet bridges serve MARS (Multi-aircraft Ramp System) parking positions making it possible to accommodate either one large aircraft (code E/F) or two medium-sized aircrafts (code C) simultaneously from the same gate.
The jet bridges were executed under a main contract by Munck A/S, in collaboration with Norisol and Aluflam as the primary subcontractors. For the project, ZESO Architects provided design and architectural services as part of the consulting team with Rambøll/Artelia as the total consultant.
