Site visit to Qaqortoq Airport

Last week, Head of Projects Mads Raagaard-Glad visited Qaqortoq in southern Greenland to review progress on ZESO’s newly designed airport and hangar buildings.

The new Qaqortoq Airport is set to open in 2026 and represents a major step forward in regional connectivity. The design of the passenger terminal focused on maximizing functionality within a compact footprint—achieved through efficient, flexible layouts that not only meet current demands but also allow for future expansion.

The hangar buildings recently celebrated their topping out ceremony—an important milestone marked together with our construction partners and dedicated craftsmen.

These projects are delivered in collaboration with Main Contractor KJ Greenland A/S, Project Management Consultants Martin & Co, and Engineers Sweco & Spangenberg & Madsen Rådgivende Ingeniørfirma A/S.
