28. November / Healing architecture
Televænget, refurbished by ZESO into innovative residential care housing for mentally disabled people has recently opened.
Christina Dilling Munk, Manager at Televænget, says: With the opening of Televænget, we’ve now got housing for mentally vulnerable citizens that is both forward-looking and uncompromising. Televænget is a gift to the district of Taarnby, because it kindles our interest in innovative thinking and creativity, thus adding new shades to an otherwise black and white run-of the-mill mainstream approach.
The building creates the framework for sensory integration, medicinal pedagogy, health, independent living skills programmes, dialectic behavioural therapy and, not least, immersion, fellowship, and quality of life – a concrete example of healing architecture that really makes a difference!
