ZESO have, in collaboration with COWI and Masanti, been selected as the winner of the competitions for three new airports in Ilulissat, Nuuk and Qaqortoq. Greenlands largest infrastructural project in recent years has thereby found its physical expression and vision. The winning propsals were particularly complimented by the jury for their functional, flexible and striking architectural compositions in all three cities.

CEO Founding Partner, Creative Director Torben Juul: We have combined our technical knowledge on how an airport should function, with a humanistic aesthetic approach and understanding of the local climate, to create what ZESO always strive for – architecture anchored in the local context, climate and culture. We look forward to contributing to a new era for the society of Greenland.

The win has cemented ZESO’s position as a driver within the development of future looking sustainable airport design and our focus on the importance they play as a key node and meeting point for societies.

Creating vibrant and unique identities which make the movement through an airport to an experience in itself, are key themes for ZESO in the segment, which also includes the new Finger E at Copenhagen Airport in Kaastrup.
