Progress in Nuuk!

Last week, Mads Raagaard-Glad was in Nuuk to oversee the progress of the coming airport buildings.

When Colm Morgan, Kelly Nelson and Mads visited Nuuk in November, only the steel frame of the terminal building was complete. Since there have been substantial developments, it is very rewarding to visit the construction site to observe the process.

The interior elements, e.g., doors and deck construction, are in process, and the first façade pieces will soon be mounted, which we are very excited to see finished. The building’s exterior will relate to the remarkable nature in Greenland and is inspired by the landscape surrounding Nuuk.

Besides the terminal building, ZESO Architects have designed an air traffic controller tower and a service building. The project is carried out for MT Højgaard International and Kalaallit Airports Group in collaboration with Spangenberg & Madsen Rådgivende Ingeniørfirma A/S and Gade & Mortensen Akustik A/S.
